Yes, it is time for some peace and quiet. You are finally coming to The Sandpiper Inn for some much-needed relaxation. You have plans of going to the beach, lounging by the pool and exploring the National Park, but you haven’t decided on the most important question of the day, “What am I eating?” Not to worry, we are here to help. Here are our recommendations for a deliciously-filled day at The Sandpiper.
They say Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. In that case, it’s best to start the day with a tasty Bahamian classic: Yellow Grits and Steamed Sausage (also pronounced Saw-chiss by locals). Or for a Sandpiper Original, the Hogfish Cakes and Egg Benedict is sure to please your taste buds.
Lunch, possibly my favorite meal of the day, is up next! The Hogfish Hoagie with Potato Wedges are mouthwatering good. Quote me when I say, I did not realize that I have not actually been eating fish until I had this sandwich. The fish is freshly-caught and seasoned to perfection.
You’ve soaked up the sun and “unplugged and reconnected”. Everything you ate today was absolutely delectable and you cannot wait for dinner. Well it’s Dinnertime. We recommend for appetizers you try the Chopped Vegetable and Spinach Salad and/or the Hogfish Conch Chowder. Do you see a trend going with the Hogfish? That’s because it is the national fish of Abaco and Head Chef Marcellus Higgins tries to incorporate it into as many dishes as possible. For the entrée, you MUST try the Pepperpot with Jasmine Rice, it is a seafood lover’s paradise. Or the Hogfish Fillet with Jasmine Rice, which is just as good, if not better than all our other Hogfish dishes. However, if you are in the mood for meat, the Ribeye Steak would satisfy all of your cravings.
I know, you are stuffed! But please make some room for dessert, the Baileys Crème Brûlée is literally heaven in your mouth.
I can promise you everything tastes a whole lot better than it looks. See you soon!
